STARR COUNTY CELEBRATES RELAY FOR LIFE AT JOE R. SANCHEZ STADIUM

press release from the Rio Grande City CISD reports the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Starr County was held at Joe R. Sanchez Stadium at Fort Ringgold on Saturday evening, November 18.
The journey started in early October with fundraisers set up to raise money for a great cause. According to the district, Dr. Mario Ramirez Elementary set its goal and didn’t stop until they achieved them and once again was made Platinum . “It was a family effort where parents, students, staff and faculty worked hard for to raise money to help in the fight against cancer. On November 18 we all stood proud and represented our campus along with all the other teams. Team D’Back will continue to join the fight as a campus , as a family,” reads a statement from the elementary.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life event is a life-changing experience that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to Celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, Remember loved ones lost, and Fight Back against the disease. Each year, more than 4 million people in over 20 countries take part in this global phenomenon and raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer.
