A press release from the County of Starr Public Relations office reports Starr County Sheriff Rene ‘Orta’ Fuentes and his staff recently participated at the The Southwest Border Sheriff’s Coalition Conference held in Sierra Vista Arizona.
The Southwest Border Sheriff’s Coalition (SWBSC) was established to insure the safety and security of the Southwestern Border of the United States by assisting the elected Sheriff’s and their personnel in the development of resources and skills through education and training.
The Coalition covers 31 counties from Brownsville to California. The sheriff’s received training on the new laws enacted by the legislature on border security.
