The Parks & Recreation youth basketball was in full swing this year with about 33 teams competing for an exciting basketball season.
“Local kids got to play teams from Roma, La Joya, and Zapata,” said Rio Grande Parks & Recreation Director Omar Peralez.

ed in the 4th & 5th grade champi-onship game as the Rio Spurs defeated the Rio Warriors 24-8,” added Peralez. “ You can see it from beginning to end that kids at this age start having confidence and believe on his or her abilities.”
