On Friday afternoon, August 18, The Rio Grande City Boys and Girls Youth Club celebrated the successful conclusion of its three months long “Mad Science Summer Program”.
Club staff and members held a day to celebrate an end to such an eventful summer. Members interacted in fun activities such as dancing, paper crafts and a challenging “Minute to win it” indoor obstacle course.
Over the span of the three months members where engaged in detailed lectures leading into hands-on activities that not only sparked curiosity and interest but brought joy and accomplishment to each of our members.
Youth Club participants were given the opportunity to visit the McAllen International Museum of Arts and Science. Where members learned a greater understanding of our world and how science plays an important role in our day to day lives. Club members also created and competed in outrageous experiments that would help improve subject development for the coming school years.
