Rev. Dr. Robert Lopez, a graduate of Rio Grande City High School and presently District Superintendent for the United Methodist Church for an area that has 140 churches and extends from Victoria to Brownsville, delivered the “Words to Live By” message at the MMPB on Tuesday, June 12. He was introduced by Romeo Lopez, his uncle. His message centered on what God expects from Christian fathers. His message was inspirational and appropriate given that Fathers’ Day will be celebrated this weekend.
Pictured above with Dr. Lopez are members of the MMPB Planning Committee, Dr. Antonio Falcon, Deacon Mike Villarreal, Baldemar Garza, Rev. Dr. Jon Herrin, Dr. Robert Lopez, Mayor Joel Villarreal, Ruben Saenz, and Deacon R.C. Salinas. The MMPBs are held the second Tuesday of the month, 6:30 am to 7:00 am, at STC. The purpose of the MMPBs is to enrich the lives of the participants by providing an opportunity to come together in a non-denominational setting for moments of fellowship and inspirational messages.
