On Saturday, September 30, the Starr County Campus Psychology Club of South Texas College participated in its 2nd Adopt-A-Highway Trash Pick-Up.
The 34 members who attended collected about 40 bags of litter over the 2 mile stretch that the psychology club is responsible for in Rio Grande City close to the STC campus.
Breakfast was provided to the members at Stripes, and then members were divided into two groups of 17 members each (led by both Vice-Presidents Raul Rivas and Victoria Benavidez respectively) to collect litter more efficiently.
This initiative of the Texas Department of Transportation is to help keep the Texas side roads clean, “Adopt-A-Highway: Don’t Mess with Texas.” The Starr Psych Club is responsible to host 4 trash pickups per year. STC Psychological Science Instructors Eli Sarabia and Alex Sarabia are very proud of all their students/members.
