4TH GRADE STUDENTS ATTENDED THE 12TH ANNUAL STARR COUNTY KIDS, KOWS & MORE EXPO

A press release from the Rio Grande City CISD reports students participated in the 12th Annual Starr County Kids, Kows & More Expo sponsored by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Starr County Farm Bureau, on Thursday November, 1.
Kids & Kows & More was a very educational learning experience for the 600 4th grade students that attended. The Rio Grande City High School FFA Chapter also assisted with leading the students to the different stations and presentations.
The students learned about various farm related lessons such as a “Dairy Milk Demonstration” where students learned about cows and how they produce milk. The students watched a cow being milked and learned how milk is handled from the cow to the milk carton. The students also learned about several other aspects of Agricultural life such as farm safety, the value of citrus in their diets, the different types of local wildlife.
